Ladies, clutch your pearls: Grokipedia has arrived!<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Grokipedia divides: the end of truth or the information monopoly? A merciless reflection on media, propaganda, and critical thinking.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Good morning to the ladies (and gentlemen) who are outraged today by the arrival of Grokipedia, speaking of "dark times," "censorship," "the end of freedom of information," "a threat to the truth," and so on\u2014all talking points repeated in perfect sync, to the point of seeming like an exercise in coordinated messaging, if not outright astroturfing. I've even read that this is "the beginning of the end," the digital version of the paperback THE END IS NEAR. Same level of credibility, same reaction: boredom. Well, good morning indeed, good morning everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem isn't Grokipedia. The problem is that we weren't used to having alternatives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Because, I wonder, where were they until yesterday, when information was essentially monopolized by a single worldview, the one shared by Wikipedia, the mainstream press, TV, social media platforms, and universities? All respectable entities, certainly, but far from bias-free. Yet that monopoly didn't seem to worry those crying foul today: simply having a source be "institutional" was automatically considered "authoritative" and therefore the exclusive bearer of truth (another paradigm, the institutional one = absolute truth, has collapsed miserably under the weight of recent events, a collapse that has claimed many victims and left many widows in various sectors, from macroeconomics to science).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, exclusivity is not synonymous with authority. Being the only voice circulating doesn't automatically make you more truthful or more accurate; on the contrary, it only makes you more monopolistic. And this, more than authority, is the institutionalization of the information monopoly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And let's be clear, the same goes for those who today celebrate Grokipedia as the new law. Because when an alternative arises by declaring the original "biased" (and it is), it's only right to ask: what is the new bias? Replacing one dogma with another doesn't create freedom, it only creates an alternative dogma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here's the thing: every time a project emerges that breaks out of the mainstream, whether you agree with it or not, the same Pavlovian reaction always sets in. Suddenly, we discover the "propaganda," the "manipulation," the "danger to the truth." This attitude betrays more insecurity than outrage, because it almost seems as if it's not "the truth" that's crumbling, but rather the personal certainties of those accustomed to feeling at the center of the narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Information warfare is not new, it has always been there.<\/strong>. The difference is that today the monopoly has simply been broken, or rather, the fact is that other alternative voices also have the opportunity to go mainstream, more or less organically (who knows) and above all if rewarded by algorithms (and not censored by platforms or governments).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I realize that I cannot provide a complete analysis of the problem here, as it is complex, but I would like to introduce one point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The true antidote to propaganda, wherever it comes from, isn't shutting down platforms or crying foul: it's awareness. Use discernment, get information from multiple sources, and ask yourself who writes, who finances, and with what interests.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

So yes, good morning indeed. Well done, ladies. And instead of clutching your pearls, you'd do better to fasten your seatbelts, because you're right about one thing: it's the beginning of something, and therefore, logically, the end of something else. But not of truth or freedom. It's the end of the information monopoly disguised as authority. And, perhaps, the beginning of a new era in which knowledge returns to being a human act: made of discernment, critical thinking, and conscious choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
